Behind the Mask

A few weeks ago I received this book by David Gelber M.D. called Behind the Mask.

It is a book written to give us (the patient) a glimpse into the life and mind of a surgeon. Have you ever been at a doctors appointment and wondered why the doctor is so quick with you? Have you ever wondered what really goes on in your doctors mind? If so this book is a must read for you.

I started reading it and finished it within 24 hours. I found myself shaking my head in understanding at the things that Dr. Gelber says. He writes so that you understand what he is thinking before, during and after surgery. It helps you to understand why surgeons make the choices that they make. I actually learned quite a bit from this book and the next time I have to see a doctor I will understand them a little bit more thanks to this book.

Break....Again?!?!

Fall Break time here. I don't ever remember getting a whole week off of school during the fall just for a break. So D has the entire week off school which would be great if he was the type of kid who slept in and was uber creative. Nope not my D. He is bored of everything after about 20 minutes and gets up with the sun. Never have figured out how he can sleep in on a school day and not want to get out of bed unless it is the weekend or a break. You know, those times when you are supposed to sleep in.

Monkey is loving that D is home all week. Gives him someone to play with (or annoy if you ask D). Hopefully this will be a nice quiet, calm week where they boys get along. HAHAHAHA who am I kidding?

It's OK

~ To be very glad when your children go back to school after another "break".

~ To be happy when your husband leaves for work after being home for a few days.

~ To feel bad when your baby is sick and that something is off because your house is quiet but then when they are well wonder why you didn't enjoy the quiet.

~ To eat Cinnamon Rolls with Ooey Gooey Icing at 10 p.m. for a snack.

~ To take an extra long time at the store when you go by yourself even if you are only going for milk.

Target Tuesday

That's right. It's Target Tuesday again. Time to link up with Tara and go on a free shopping spree at Target. I am a little late in my shopping today but since Target Online is open 24 hours it doesn't really matter.
