Break....Again?!?!

Fall Break time here. I don't ever remember getting a whole week off of school during the fall just for a break. So D has the entire week off school which would be great if he was the type of kid who slept in and was uber creative. Nope not my D. He is bored of everything after about 20 minutes and gets up with the sun. Never have figured out how he can sleep in on a school day and not want to get out of bed unless it is the weekend or a break. You know, those times when you are supposed to sleep in.

Monkey is loving that D is home all week. Gives him someone to play with (or annoy if you ask D). Hopefully this will be a nice quiet, calm week where they boys get along. HAHAHAHA who am I kidding?

It's OK

~ To be very glad when your children go back to school after another "break".

~ To be happy when your husband leaves for work after being home for a few days.

~ To feel bad when your baby is sick and that something is off because your house is quiet but then when they are well wonder why you didn't enjoy the quiet.

~ To eat Cinnamon Rolls with Ooey Gooey Icing at 10 p.m. for a snack.

~ To take an extra long time at the store when you go by yourself even if you are only going for milk.

Target Tuesday

That's right. It's Target Tuesday again. Time to link up with Tara and go on a free shopping spree at Target. I am a little late in my shopping today but since Target Online is open 24 hours it doesn't really matter.

This week I am totally in a Fall mood which means a Baking Mood for me!

Ahhhh I can smell the cookies now!

Yummy Apple Crisp

A few weeks ago I was in the mood for something fruity. So what better than to make an apple crisp.

I have been requested by a friend to post the recipe for it so that is exactly what I am going to do.


Ingredients:

4-6 large apples (depending on how fruity you like it) I used 8 in the following photos
¾ cup packed brown sugar
½ cup all purpose flour
½ cup quick cooking oats
¾ teaspoon of cinnamon
1/3 cup of butter softened to room temperature

Preheat your oven to 375°.

While your oven is preheating, generously grease an 8x8" pan.

Mix together in a medium sized bowl the brown sugar, flour, oats, cinnamon, and butter until it is crumbly. I used 2 forks.

Set the mixture aside and begin working on your apples. Peel and core the apples and slice them thin. Try to get them all around the same thickness so they cook evenly. Put them into the greased baking dish:

Once you have finished with the apples sprinkle the crumbly mixture over the top evenly:

Bake for 30 minutes or until the apples are fork tender.

It's a Guy Thing!

The last post I did consisted of things most girls do so I felt it fitting to post some guy things! Not all guys do the following but most do.

Its a guy thing to:

* Buy a thousand minutes a month of cell phone time but use on average 87 minutes.

* Go straight to the action or horror section in Blockbuster to pick out a movie that "both" will enjoy.

* Be willing to communicate but only on commercial breaks.

* Fall asleep in front of the TV while maintaining a death grip on the remote. (Bubba is totally guilty of this).

* Say "I love you" right before confession something stupid he has done.

* Manicure his nails with a pocket knife (Bubba is also guilty of this)

* Touching a 9 volt battery's terminal with his tongue to see if it still has a charge (Another thing Bubba is guilty of and tried to get our kids to do...No I am not kidding)

* Want a medal for all the menial tasks he performs around the house.

* Thinking he can judge the size of something by just looking at it, as in, "Yeah, looks like you need a five-sixteenths-inch drill bit (Bubba does this ALL. THE. TIME.)



So what does your guy do?

It's A Girl Thing

Men don't understand it, and women can't explain it....or don't want to. It's the thing a woman does or says that seems to have no logical interpretation or rational thought pattern. These items listed below are all girl things. That's all. Pure and simple. And no explanations will be given. After all, if you don't get it...you must not be a girl.

* Spend hours in the pursuit of the proper eye shadow color to coordinate with your handbag, shoes and hose.

* Know all bathroom scales are off and never in her favor.

* Own 12 red lipsticks yet needing another one because all the others are the wrong shade.

* Have "strap" problems in public.

* Dislike a "Macho" man, except when a dead mouse needs to be taken to the garbage.

* Insist a guy participate in the losing game of "Do you notice anything different?"

* Cry the moment it becomes apparent you are losing the argument.

For me it would have to be Pop music. I don't care what year but I really get into it.

Coconut Rum. If you are only giving me one option I may as well have fun with it. JUST KIDDING. I would pick Mt. Dew

ER, 90210 (The Old school version) and I can't think of a 3rd one.
5. What is one cd your own that people would laugh if you told them you actually bought that?
I don't own any that anyone would laugh at. Now back in the day I did. But I don't own it anymore so I can say it doesn't apply here :)
6. What is one job/career you told yourself you would never do even if it was your last resort?
I will have to agree with my friend Trixie when she says anything to do with Barf or Poop. Just not going to happen.
7. How did you decide on the name{s} of your child{ren}?
With D it was the one my husband and I liked best. For Monkey it was not decided until a few weeks before he was born and it was something that flowed with D's name (Dylan and Tyler)
8. What is one show you refuse to miss no matter what?

9. How many miles would you say you drive in a week?
On average about 30
10. Who is one celebrity you wish would just go away & disappear off the face of the earth never to return?
There are quite a few but just one....Oh I can't pick just one. So I would have to say the cast of Jersey Shore. I am done hearing about them.

Happy Hump Day

Happy Hump Day! Hope this finds you all doing well. I for one am glad the week is half way over. Bubba has a 3 day weekend coming up and I think it is the first time that he is going to be home all weekend long in months. I need a small break from D and Monkey and just a little me time.

We have decided to spend the weekend cleaning out our garage. I will post before and after pics. It is insanely packed full of random junk that I just can't seem to part with. Well I plan on purging it this weekend so Goodwill can have some of my stuff that I really don't have to have. We are going to bring boxes inside to go through them instead of working in the garage like we normally do since it is so stinkin hot out there we never get it all the way finished. So I am making it my mission to make sure the house is cleaned by Friday and that it is ready to start sorting out the 200 boxes we have out there. I plan on finishing it this weekend too. Wish me luck, I am surely going to need it.
